The Briggait

The Briggait was built in 1873 and served as a fishmarket in Glasgow’s Merchant City. Despite several attempts to revive the building it has been mostly unused for the past decade or so, apart from one section which is home to the Glasgow Sculpting Studios. However help is at hand in the form of grant aid from the Scottish Arts Council National Lottery Fund to transform it into a resource for visual artists in Scotland. A possible future venue for a Scottish Photobloggers exhibition? We'll have to wait until 2009 though.
